Can I use my insurance?
Most PPO Insurances are accepted. With PPO insurance, I am considered an “out of network provider” and your plan may reimburse in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage by asking the following questions:
Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health?
Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will start to reimburse me?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What percentage of the fee do you cover?
What can I expect?
I create a safe container so that you can explore any concern in your life, uncovering old patterns that no longer work for you and learning new ways of living, freeing you from the cycle of suffering. Deciding to address mental discomfort is courageous. Growth and healing begins in an accepting place where I meet you with unconditional positive regard, warmth and compassion. We will collaboratively explore the areas of your life that you would like to improve. Together we will create a holistic, non-judgmental plan with tangible objectives to bring you freedom and happiness.
I use evidence-based techniques with methods of holistic healing that will encourage you to be present with your body and mind. Tapping in to your body’s organic emotional intelligence delivers whole person healing. This will guide you to relate to yourself with compassion, acceptance, patience, and flexibility. I believe in you. I believe that you have within you all the answers that you need in order to gain emotional freedom. Growth happens through emotional expression. I will help you to gain access to your heart and your true self in a safe and compassionate way.
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and therapist. Successful therapy requires a high degree of trust. Every therapist provides a written copy of their confidential disclosure agreement, and what you have discussed in session will not be shared with anyone. This is called “Informed Consent”. Sometimes, however, you may want your therapist to share information or give an update to someone on your healthcare team (ex: psychiatrist). By law your therapist cannot release this information without obtaining your written permission. There are some exceptions to confidentiality when safety is at risk.
State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality except for in the following situations:
Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety.
What about the “Good Faith Estimate” Notice?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
